The ocean facing rooms did not look as private and some of them were very close to the lobby and restaurant, so keep that in mind. We were not facing the ocean, but instead a grassy courtyard and we liked this just as much. The great thing is every room comes with a balcony or a lanai so you can sit out and enjoy the Hawaii weather. Though the guest room was not as glamorous as the rest of the hotel, we found that it fit our needs. The water was always very calm with no current, and it was just a great place to swim for people of all ages. We went snorkeling almost every day, because we could not help but see what was out there. We also saw lots of pretty fish, some creepy eels and these cool red pencil sea urchins. The best part was there were SO many turtles! Every time we went out we saw at least one, and they swam right next to us!! It was an surreal experience. Not only was the beach beautiful to look at, but the sights got even better underwater! There is a colorful coral reef right off the beach attached to the resort and they offer free snorkel gear to explore it. This was a great way to explore the area and made it easy to walk to other hotels and try their restaurants.ģ- AMAZING Snorkeling Right off the Beach The Andaz Maui is also on the Wailea Beach path, which winds along the beaches and rocks past many other hotels. They say this part of the island is sunnier and less rainy than other parts, and we found that to be true as well. Also, the beach there was so stunning and we could have laid in the sun on that sparkling sand forever if we had the choice. We found it was conveniently near so many great restaurants and lots of other nice hotels to check out. It is right in the heart of Wailea which is known as the “boojie” (fancy) side of the island. We found this to be an extremely valuable use of points, even compared to the fact that the all-inclusive Hyatt Ziva Cancun cost the same amount of points and included food and drinks.Īnother things I loved about the Andaz Maui was it’s location. I am not sure if that would work for a short three or four night trip, but it is worth a try. They said that was completely fine and I was still allowed to use points! So I called back, booked the stay seven for nights, and then called a few days later and had them remove one night off. Then I saw online that they only allow point stays for 7+ nights. I called about eight months ahead of time and tried to get six nights with points, and was told there was no availability. People often have trouble finding room availability here, but I found a way around it. You have to pay the valet fee unless you do not get a car, so it only cost us $210 out of pocket to stay here! Rooms now go for 30,000 points per night here. The best part about using points is that you do not have to pay the $45 + tax per night resort fee! Our 6 night stay was 150,000 points for what would have cost $3,900 for the room ($533 a night + tax) and over $500 in fees ($45/resort fee, $35/mandatory valet fee). You can transfer points from a Chase Sapphire Credit Cardor use World of Hyatt points for a stay here. If you are looking to travel to Maui, this is an ideal hotel to use points for your vacation. At first, I was worried this hotel might not be worth the 25,000 points a night (now 30,000), but it ended up beating our expectations by a lot! Our stay was wonderful and I have to share with you why this is a great place to stay on Maui 1- World of Hyatt Hotel We loved our “glamping” experience, but we were excited to get to the Andaz and be pampered. On our trip to Maui, we stayed two nights in the Camp Olowalutentalows and six nights at the Andaz Maui.
